Times Media General Manager Named Publisher of the Quad City Times

DAVENPORT, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 26, 2015-- Lee Enterprises (NYSE: LEE), a leading provider of news, information and advertising in 50 markets, has promoted Deborah Anselm, general manager of Times Media Company, to publisher of the Quad City Times. She succeeds Greg Veon, who is retiring after nearly 40 years with Lee.

Anselm, 52, has more than 15 years of leadership experience with Lee’s northwest Indiana enterprise, which includes The Times, nwitimes.com and several specialty publications.

“The Quad City Times has long been a vital part of community and commerce in the Quad Cities area,” Anselm said. “It’s truly an honor to be named publisher of a newspaper with such a deep and storied past in Lee Enterprises. I’m eager to begin work with my new colleagues and become involved in the Quad Cities community.”

Anselm was named general manager of The Times in 2013 and added the role of vice president of sales and marketing in 2014. Her career with the company also includes director of marketing, general manager of Porter County operations and retail advertising manager.

Anselm has been active in a number of community development and charitable organizations. She is the current chair of the Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Getting Results Porter County Community Task Force and the Valparaiso Community Schools Building Advisory Committee.

Her current active board memberships include: Porter Starke Foundation; Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County; Opportunity Enterprises; and the Pink Ribbon Society. Anselm has also served on the board of directors for the American Cancer Society and the Valparaiso Park Foundation.

Anselm is a 1987 graduate of Indiana University. She and her husband, Scott, have three children.
