Lee Enterprises Plans Sale of Provo Newspaper Assets

DAVENPORT, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 22, 2016-- Lee Enterprises, Incorporated (NYSE:LEE), a major provider of local news, information and advertising in 49 markets, has entered into an agreement to sell its newspaper and digital media operations in Provo, Utah to Ogden Newspapers of Utah, LLC., including the Daily Herald and heraldextra.com.

The Daily Herald is published seven days a week with a print circulation of about 20,000 daily and nearly 27,000 Sunday. Heraldextra.com reaches approximately 700,000 unique visitors each month. Lee acquired the newspaper in 2005 as part of the purchase of Pulitzer, Inc.

Ogden Newspapers publishes 40 daily newspapers, along with several magazines, weekly newspapers and shoppers in 14 states.
